Appellant Larry Shane Turner was tried on an indictment charging him with the malice murder, felony murder (with aggravated assault being the underlying felony), and aggravated assault of Shawn Moss Kelley.1 Appellant admitted having fired the shot that killed the victim, but maintained he acted in self-defense.
