I. INTRODUCTION

This is a patent infringement case. On August 18, 2005 Crown Packaging Technology, Inc. and Crown Cork & Seal USA, Inc. (collectively "Crown") filed suit against Rexam Beverage Can Co. ("Rexare) and Rexam Beverage Can Americas, Inc. alleging infringement under 35 U.S.C. § 271 of Crown's U.S. Patent No. 6,848,875 ("the '875 patent").
