In November 2005, petitioner commenced this proceeding seeking to have respondent's daughter (born in 1998) adjudicated to be neglected. The petition was based upon allegations that respondent failed to comply with recommended treatment for her mental illness, withdrew the child from school and failed to otherwise meet the child's educational needs, and did not maintain her home in a safe and sanitary condition.
