Former Missouri Department of Corrections (MDOC) inmate Randell Brown filed a 42 U.S.C. § 1983 suit against a number of MDOC employees, including Keith Fortner and Eugene Scott. Brown alleged Fortner and Scott, both correction officers with the MDOC, acted with deliberate indifference by failing to provide safe transportation to Brown, thus violating Brown's Eighth Amendment rights.
