BOLIN, Justice.

The State of Alabama petitioned this Court for a writ of certiorari to review whether the Court of Criminal Appeals erred in reversing the trial court's judgment convicting Eric Rodney Hammonds of one count of reckless murder and two counts of second-degree assault. We granted certiorari review. For the reasons discussed below, we reverse the judgment of the Court of Criminal Appeals.
