Ralph Shannon pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2252(a)(4). The district court sentenced Shannon to 46 months' imprisonment and a life term of supervised release. On appeal, he argues that (1) the federal sentencing scheme approved in United States v.
