Petitioner commenced this proceeding alleging that respondent, then age 14, committed an act which, if committed by an adult, would constitute criminal mischief in the fourth degree. Petitioner produced evidence that the victim, a worker in the St. Lawrence County Youth Advocacy Program, went to respondent's home due to the latter's chronic truancy and impounded his puppies in an effort to induce him to attend school.
