OPINION

MAES, Justice.

{1} Defendant, Steven Lopez, was tried with four codefendants facing various charges as a result of the death of Defendant's five-month-old niece, Baby Briana. This Court examined the cases of two of Defendant's codefendants, Stephanie Lopez, Baby Briana's mother (Mother), and Andrew Walters, Baby Briana's Father (Father). See State v.
