MARTIN, Justice.

This case represents the most recent chapter in our jurisprudence concerning the finite number of cases to which Blakely v. Washington, 542 U.S. 296, 124 S.Ct. 2531, 159 L.Ed.2d 403 (2004), applies, but North Carolina's remedial sentencing legislation does not. We conclude that no error occurred in defendant's trial and that defendant is not entitled to a new sentencing hearing.
