Larry Taylor ("Taylor"), who had earlier been convicted in the Mississippi courts, was a participant in the state's Earned Release Supervision Program ("ERS"). While he was on supervised release, the Mississippi authorities conducted a warrantless search of his girlfriend's residence, where Taylor was an overnight guest, and found a firearm.
