JOHNSON, J., delivered the opinion of the Court in which KELLER, P.J., MEYERS, WOMACK, KEASLER, HERVEY, HOLCOMB and COCHRAN, JJ., joined.

Appellant plead guilty to the charge of intoxication manslaughter, and the jury sentenced her to nine years' incarceration. Her motion for new trial was overruled. On appeal, appellant raised a number of issues, including a claim that the trial court had abused its discretion by denying appellant's new trial...
