In this case, we consider whether a Florida resident who was injured in a Florida workplace accident may recover workers' compensation benefits in Michigan merely because he was hired in Michigan. We conclude that he cannot. The relevant portion of the Michigan Worker's Disability Compensation Act (WDCA), MCL 418.845, confers jurisdiction on the Bureau of Worker's Compensation, now the Workers' Compensation Agency, for out-of-state workplace injuries...
