Appellant Kevin Adkins was convicted by a Benton County jury of aggravated assault on a correctional facility employee, possession of marijuana, and failure to register as a sex offender. The jury recommended sentences of fifteen years' imprisonment and a $10,000 fine for the failure-to-register conviction; fifteen years' imprisonment and a $10,000 fine for aggravated assault; and 30 years in prison and a $5,000 fine for the possession conviction...
