In July, 2004, a jury in the Superior Court found the defendant guilty of murder in the first degree on a theory of deliberate premeditation, G. L. c. 265, § 1, for his participation in a homicide that had occurred fifteen years earlier, in July, 1989. The defendant was arrested after his coventurer confessed; the two men had successfully concealed their involvement in the crime for more than eleven years...
