This dispute arises out of a refinancing transaction in which First Liberty Financial, Inc., owned and run by the debtor-defendant Alan Ma, served as a mortgage broker for the plaintiff Elaine Mayher. Mayher filed a complaint in Ma's chapter 7 case asking that a debt owed to her by First Liberty be declared nondischargeable as against Ma individually under 11 U.S.C. § 523(a)...
