A jury found Daniel Remsburg guilty of aggravated assault against Greg Wilson, a law enforcement officer employed by the Texas Department of Public Safety. See TEX. PENAL CODE ANN. § 22.01(a)(1) (Vernon Supp.2006) (defining simple assault), § 22.02(a)(2) (Vernon 2003) (defining aggravated assault against a public servant). That offense is a first-degree felony.
