The State has appealed from the superior court's order dismissing 10 counts of obtaining property by false pretenses on the grounds of collateral estoppel arising out of the court's prior dismissal of four counts of the same offense. According to the State, each of the 14 counts were based on checks signed by Beatrice Lawter — leaving the amount and payee vacant — and given to defendant Stephen Michael Spargo for payment of medical expenses...
