This lawsuit is the result of failed business negotiations for a royalty on the net sales of Visudyne, a blockbuster drug prescribed to treat age-related macular degeneration. In the early to mid-1990s, researchers at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary ("MEEI") demonstrated that the drug had promise in treating age-related macular degeneration, a leading cause of blindness...
