Following a jury trial, Joseph Corey Smith was convicted of felony murder while in the commission of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Frank Matthew Keahey. Smith's convictions were previously affirmed by this Court, but the case was remanded to the trial court for a hearing and determination on Smith's claim of ineffective assistance of trial counsel.
