Defendant Edward Pierre ran an illegal wholesale and retail drug distribution business in Fall River, Massachusetts.

In 2003, Pierre was convicted of possessing cocaine with intent to distribute; the jury hung on a separate drug conspiracy count. The conspiracy count was retried in 2004, and Pierre was convicted of conspiring to distribute crack cocaine and cocaine. Pierre's co-defendant and ex-girlfriend, Michelle Mickens, pled guilty...
