Viewing the evidence in a light most favorable to plaintiff, as we are required to do, the jury was warranted in finding that defendant's negligence was a substantial factor in causing the accident and that plaintiff was not negligent (see Strauss v New York City Tr. Auth., 305 A.D.2d 160 [2003], lv denied 100 N.Y.2d 513 [2003]).
