A.M.B. ("the mother") appeals, asserting that the juvenile court erred in awarding physical custody of H.B. ("the child") to R.B.B. and P.B., the child's paternal grandparents ("the paternal grandparents").

This case has its genesis in an adoption proceeding. In October 2004, the paternal grandparents filed a petition in the St. Clair Probate Court to adopt the child, their granddaughter; at that time, the mother was still a minor and the child...
