This action arises out of the settlement of a prior action, commenced in 1996, relating to efforts of Grupo Empresarial Agricola Mexicano S.A. de C.V. (GEAM) to sell its majority interest in Fresh Del Monte Produce N.V. (FDMP) to IAT. After GEAM and FDMP sued Eastbrook in Supreme Court, New York County in August 1996, Eastbrook counterclaimed and named IAT and others as counterclaim defendants.
