Plaintiff was born in June 1991 at a hospital operated by defendant New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (NYCHHC). On May 10, 1996, plaintiff, with leave of court, served a notice of claim asserting that, as a result of the medical malpractice of NYCHHC's staff, plaintiff sustained personal injuries.
