This appeal involves an issue of first impression in Kentucky: when does the statute of limitations begin to run against an arrestee's claim for false imprisonment or false arrest? The trial court dismissed Tracey J. Dunn's claim of false imprisonment on the basis that it was barred by the applicable statute of limitations because Dunn filed his lawsuit more than a year after the arrest.
