Without notice and over objection, and after bypassing a seventy-two hour temporary custody hearing to a trial on the merits in Juvenile Court, a judge found the mother unfit to assume parental responsibility for her son Orazio and her daughter Francine, found the children in need of care and protection, and committed them to the permanent custody of the Department of Social Services (DSS).
