Although the stability ensuing from a prior award of custody is a factor to be considered on a request to change custody, "[t]he standard ultimately to be applied remains the best interests of the child when all of the applicable factors are considered" (Friederwitzer v Friederwitzer, 55 N.Y.2d 89, 95 [1982]).
