A class was certified as one for the establishment of a court-supervised medical monitoring and/or smoking cessation program fund. Following two phases of trial, a judgment was rendered whereby defendants1, cigarette manufacturers and a public relations firm, were ordered to fund a smoking cessation program for class members who desired to quit smoking.
