In this suit filed by 35 former and current firefighters against the City of Ruston and its Mayor (collectively herein the "City"), plaintiffs sought a determination of the level of base pay upon which salary differentials were to be calculated under La. R.S. 33:1992, an award for unpaid vacation benefits and out of class dispatcher pay for employees who performed dispatcher duties.
