The defendant, Monjeral Dewayne Foster, appeals his sentence to 30 years at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence, following his plea of guilty to armed robbery. The defendant claims this court should review his sentence even though it fell within a sentencing cap which was part of his plea bargain agreement. He claims that the sentence is excessive.
