This appeal arises out of an action by the plaintiff, Edward C. Demers, Jr., to recover damages from the defendant, Steven C. Rosa, for injuries sustained in an incident involving the defendant's roaming dog. The trial court found the defendant liable under a theory of common-law negligence and awarded the plaintiff $48,381.76 in damages, plus costs.
