Petitioner Espirito Santo Bank ("ES Bank") seeks a Writ of Certiorari quashing the trial court's order granting Respondent, Mercio Goncalves Rego's ("Rego") motion to amend his complaint to seek punitive damages in connection with his claim for fraudulent inducement. Because the trial court departed from the essential requirements of the law, we grant the petition for certiorari.1
