On January 10, 2005, the State filed a bill of information charging the defendant-appellant Danny Galindo with one count of violating La. R.S. 14:43.1 relative to sexual battery. The defendant entered a not guilty plea at his arraignment on January 19, 2005. On April 19, 2005, the defendant was tried and convicted by a six-person jury.
