On October 23, 2003, after a jury trial, defendant, Leratio Smith, was found guilty of first-degree murder, armed robbery, and attempted armed robbery. He was sentenced to 60 years' imprisonment for murder, a concurrent term of 20 years for armed robbery, and a consecutive term of 8 years for attempted armed robbery.
