Lawrence Michael Borchardt was tried by a jury in the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County in May 2000, and convicted of two counts of first degree murder and felony murder, and robbery with a deadly weapon. The jury sentenced Borchardt to death. On direct appeal, this Court affirmed the judgment and sentence. Borchardt v. State, 367 Md. 91, 786 A.2d 631 (2001), cert. denied...
