The defendant, Ahmaad Lane, appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a jury verdict, of assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-59 (a)(1) and criminal possession of a firearm in violation of General Statutes § 53a217 (a)(1). The defendant claims that the trial court improperly (1) allowed the jury to be selected in a racially discriminatory manner in violation of his rights to equal protection of the law...
