¶ 1. James Ray "Buddy" Edge, Jr. was convicted in the Circuit Court of Itawamba County on one count of burglary of an occupied dwelling pursuant to Section 97-17-23 of the Mississippi Code Annotated (Rev.2004). Edge entered an open plea of guilt, and the circuit court judge thereby imposed a sentence of twenty years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with ten years to be suspended and five years post-release probation....
