The defendant, Rance K. Dunbar ("Dunbar"), was charged by bill of information on 4 March 2005 with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a violation of La. R.S. 14:68.4. He pleaded not guilty at his 8 March 2005 arraignment. The trial court denied Dunbar's motion to suppress the evidence at a 30 March 2005 hearing, at which the court also found probable cause. He was tried by a six-person jury on 19 July 2005, and found guilty as charged...
