The defendant, Ronald K. Powell, was convicted as charged for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and conspiracy to distribute cocaine. He was sentenced to serve five years at hard labor for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and eight years at hard labor for conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
