This suit is brought by plaintiffs Wendell Dean Van Meter and his wife, who allege that Van Meter was unlawfully terminated from the City of Lanett Police Department. They allege a violation of his rights to free speech under the First Amendment and procedural due process under the Fourteenth Amendment, as well as state-law claims for wrongful termination, intentional infliction of emotional distress, defamation...
