This is a slip and fall case. Plaintiff Harold Matthews, a truck driver, sued defendants to recover for injuries sustained when he tripped and fell over a piece of metal jutting up near a fuel pump. He sued defendant Avalon Petroleum Company (Avalon), the owner of the fuel pump, on a claim of premises liability; he sued defendant Petroleum Technologies Equipment, Inc. (PTE), which Avalon called to repair...
