SHARPNACK, Judge.

Harvey N. Berman appeals the judgment against him in favor of James and Rhonda Cannon. Berman raises three issues, which we consolidate and restate as:

I. Whether the trial court abused its discretion when it refused to allow Berman's counsel to explain the medical reasons behind Berman's absence from the trial; and II. Whether the jury's damage awards to Rhonda and James Cannon were excessive and unreasonable...
