Defendant, Brandon Robert, was found guilty at a bench trial of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a violation of La. R.S. 14:95.1, and aggravated assault, a violation of La. R.S. 14:37. He was sentenced to ten years at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole or suspension on the firearm charge and six months on the aggravated assault conviction.
