Appellant John Holmes was convicted in a jury trial of conspiracy, money laundering, and false use of a social security number relating to a scheme to receive, conceal, and retain money stolen from the United States Department of Education ("DOE"). Holmes now appeals that conviction, arguing that the trial was impermissibly delayed in violation of the Speedy Trial Act...
