Michael Cagle, Jr., was convicted in Arkansas state court of murder in the first degree and sentenced to forty-years' imprisonment. He exhausted state court remedies and petitioned for writ of habeas corpus in federal district court. The district court1 denied his petition. Cagle appeals asserting structural error in a jury instruction, and violation of the right to present a defense by an improper exclusion of evidence...
