The government charged defendants Maria Fregoso-Bonilla ("Fregoso-Bonilla") and Hermalinda Valle-Fregoso ("Valle-Fregoso") in a single indictment with operating an unlicensed money transmitting business, contrary to 18 U.S.C. § 1960.1 The government now moves pursuant to Fed.R.Crim.P. 14 to sever the trials of the two defendants based on a potential Bruton problem...
