STATEMENT OF THE CASE

Mitchell Pat Mayeux, Sr. was convicted by a jury of forcible rape in violation of La.R.S. 14:42.1. Following the jury's verdict, the trial court ordered a pre-sentence investigation. On the date scheduled for sentencing, Defendant filed a Motion for New Trial and/or Arrest of Judgment. The motion was heard and denied. The Defendant was sentenced to serve thirty years at hard labor. He appeals, asserting several assignments...
