Timothy Alessi appeals from an order denying his motion for postconviction relief, which alleged multiple claims of ineffective assistance of counsel during the criminal proceeding resulting in his conviction for first degree murder, for killing his wife, and related convictions for armed burglary and for the attempted murder of Mrs. Alessi's brother, Kevin Herron. With respect to all claims analyzed pursuant to the two-pronged test in Strickland
