A Hennepin County jury convicted Kurt Thomas Bird of one count of first-degree premeditated murder and one count of first-degree domestic abuse murder for the shooting death of his wife. The jury declined to find that Bird committed the lesser-included offense of heat-of-passion manslaughter.
