Forty-seven-year-old Jeff Blakeman applied for Social Security disability benefits in July 2003, claiming a disability onset date of October 1, 1997. He suffers from a genetic heart condition that allegedly causes disabling fatigue, dizziness, shortness of breath, and arrhythmia.
